Horror and tattoos go together like peanut butter and jelly- just ask well acclaimed tattoo artist, Ron570 Russo. So it was only time before someone put them together in one huge, bloody filled weekend! Spooky Empire was created as an October event in 2003 and quickly grew to be one of the largest horror weekends for the enthusiast of any age.

After the “Ultimate” weekend became such a [zombie] epidemic, it was only a matter of time before Spooky Empire would birth a spawn and TAH-DAH! May-Hem was born in 2011. Although said to be more of an “intimate” affair, May-Hem is sure not to disappoint. “May-Hem exceeded everyone’s expectations and has now become an annual event.”

IA: Besides Sacred Tattoo and your current shop, where have you worked?

FS: The Illustrative Man Tattoo and Lucky Boys Tattoo.

 IA: And what is the current shop you work at?

FS: Never Say Die Tattoo in Harrisburg, PA.

 IA: How long have you worked there?

FS: A year and a half.

 IA: How many total years have you been tattooing?

FS: Eight years.

IA: How would you describe your tattoo style?

FS: Fast and loose. Meaning I tattoo the way I draw- usually based on traditional but a little more “cartoony”.

IA: What would you say is your favorite thing about working in this industry?

FS: Its great doing what I love, and working with some great guys.

IA: And what do you like to do in your free time?

FS: I love hanging out with my 1 1/2 year old daughter, Mary Scarlet, working on hot rods, and pin striping what ever I can get my hands on.
