Eddie Bonacore

Eddie Bonacore has been tattooing professionally for four years now. He was born in Long Island, NY, but left the city long ago for the beautiful mountains of the Poconos in Pennsylvania.  We got a chance to meet Eddie at the Tattooed Life Tour in Cincinnati, OH where he was busy winning all kinds of awards.

Eddie designed his first InkAddict Artist Apparel last month and is already planning on another design. We got to sit down with Eddie and ask him a few questions.

JD: You have come a long way in the four years you have been tattooing. You have won a lot of awards and your portfolio is very impressive. What would you say are some key factors to your success?

Eddie: Ron Russo, aka Ron 570 has been my mentor and has taught me a lot. I contribute a lot to him. I also feel that every time I go to a tattoo convention I get better. It is a lot of fun traveling. It is great to meet a lot of the guys I look up to and I get really excited when they actually respect my work and give me pointers.

JD: What Ink and equipment do you prefer?

Eddie: All I use is Eternal Ink. I think it is great.  I use a Hawk Machine, Joshua Carlton Shader, and Ernie D. Liner.

JD: On a personal note, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Eddie: You can find me tattooing most days of the week. But when I do get spare time, I enjoy oil painting, listening to music and hanging out with my fiancé and our dogs.  Living in the Poconos is awesome because we get to spend a lot of time outdoors hiking and enjoying the wilderness.

JD: That reminds me. You recently just got engaged. Congrats man.

Eddie: Yeah, thank you man. It was pretty cool. I proposed to Stefanie on a hiking trip in the mountains.  I was just glad she said yes. It would have been a long hike back. Haha.

Your InkAddict Artist design is different from a lot of the designs we have on the site. Tell us a little about the inspiration behind it.

Eddie: I love gory movies and love drawing gory shit. So I thought something like that would make a cool shirt. I drew that with colored pencils, then messed with it a bit in photoshop to get it to look like it does now. I am actually already working on another one that will be in all color pastels.

JD: Well Eddie. Thank you for your time and congratulations on your recent engagement and professional success. We thank you for being part of the InkAddict family and look forward to seeing some more InkAddict Artist Apparel from you in the future.
