Kitty’s journey to becoming an alternative model started in an unlikely place: a hospital. During a scare with cancer, Kitty found herself spending long hours in hospitals with nothing but the internet to pass the time. A spark was ignited when Kitty stumbled across photos of Masuimi Max and Amanda Pemberton shot by photographer Perry Gallagher. Kitty reached out to Gallagher and let him know how his work had inspired her. To Kitty’s surprise, their exchange lead to an invitation to be the subject of his work. Kitty hopped on a plane to Hollywood and nearly six years later, Kitty is a full-time model and actress.
Tattoos have played a huge role in Kitty’s self-expression and she believes her ink has helped her achieve goals that would have been unattainable without them. “I’ve been featured in over two dozen TV shows and films. I’ve toured with Metallica, been featured on the cover of magazines and sang karaoke with Zooey Deschanel. All because I have an upbeat personality and I’m covered in tattoos!” Kitty draws her inspiration from strong independent woman like Kathleen Hanna, Cyndi Lauper and Margaret Cho, who have the courage to present themselves to an audience just as they are. Modeling allows Kitty to step into that spotlight she admires other women for, “I love being creative in a way that allows several people to all collaborate together. Modeling isn’t just one person’s idea, it’s a group of talented individuals working together to create a new unseen product. It takes clothing designers, makeup artist, hairstylists, photographers, models and more.”
My InkAddict leggings are to die for. I jog weekly along the Hudson River on the West Side Highway in NYC, in them. I constantly get compliments on them and how great they fit my curvy butt. The InkAddict clothes are always high quality and comfy which is great when working out, resting or out on the town. Its nice to have a brand I can stand up for in every way.
You may see Kitty on television, online, or in print next... or maybe you’ll even catch her crossing things like driving in the demolition derby or performing stand up comedy off her bucket list. No matter where life takes her, Kitty Crystal would love your support. Follow her or get in touch via social media.
